Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Rous Media (ABN 38 450 368 290), a sole trader based in Toowoomba, Queensland (“we”, “us”, “our”), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Two different roles. This policy covers both:

1. Our own website and marketing — information about visitors, enquirers and prospective clients.
2. Work we do for clients — where we handle information on a client’s behalf as their service provider. In that case the client decides how the information is used, and their own privacy policy also applies.

1. Information we collect

From website visitors and enquirers

From clients

2. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on this website to measure advertising performance and understand how visitors use the site. The Pixel sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit — including pages viewed and actions such as clicking a booking button — which may be matched to a Facebook or Instagram account.

You can opt out or limit this at any time:

Blocking cookies will not stop you using this website or booking a call.

3. Why we collect and use information

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with, including overseas recipients

We use trusted third-party providers to run our business. Several store or process data outside Australia, primarily in the United States. Under APP 8, we are telling you this before you provide your information.

We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information appropriately. However, overseas recipients may not be subject to the Australian Privacy Act, and you may not be able to seek redress under it. By providing your information you consent to these disclosures.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

5. Sensitive information and client campaign data

Some of our clients are cosmetic, dental, med-spa and allied-health businesses. Information about a person’s health, or their use of a health service, is sensitive information under the Privacy Act and attracts additional protection.

6. Direct marketing and unsubscribing

Marketing emails and SMS we send include a clear unsubscribe or opt-out method, which we action promptly. Where we contact a business using contact details it has published publicly, we do so in accordance with the Spam Act’s provisions for business communications, and we honour any request to stop.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, multi-factor authentication where available, and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law — for example, financial records retained for at least five years to meet Australian Taxation Office requirements. When no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

Under APP 12 and APP 13 you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Email us using the details in section 11. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge to make a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for access in limited circumstances. We may need to verify your identity first.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first — we will acknowledge your complaint and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
